Frequently asked questions

Are my thoughts used to train AI?

No. Thought Monster uses the OpenAI API, whose inputs and outputs are not used to train OpenAI models by default. Thought processing requests are also sent with storage disabled.

Is the microphone always listening?

No. Recording begins only while you actively hold the record control. Releasing pauses it, and nothing is processed until you choose Feed it.

Do you keep my recordings?

The temporary audio file is deleted after transcription and organization. Your transcript and summary remain in your private account so you can find them again.

What happens when I delete a card or account?

Digesting a card permanently removes the card and every saved transcript inside it. Deleting your account permanently removes your account, cards, and saved transcripts. Thought Monster does not keep original recordings after processing.

Who can see my Belly, and is my data sold?

Your Belly is private to your signed-in account and other users cannot see its cards, transcripts, or dashboard. Thought Monster does not sell your saved thoughts or share them for advertising. Authorized infrastructure administrators may have limited technical access when required to operate, secure, or support the service.

What can administrators see?

Authorized administrators can see account email addresses, signup and last-sign-in times, card counts, and aggregate activity dates needed to operate and support the service. The admin dashboard never loads card titles, summaries, transcripts, recordings, categories, or private Monster Insights.

Who can see Monster Insights, and what do they mean?

Only you can see insights from your account. They are calculated in your browser from the memory cards currently stored in your Belly and are not a psychological assessment, diagnosis, or forensic conclusion. When a card is deleted, it is removed from the next dashboard calculation.

What cookies or local storage are used?

Thought Monster uses necessary browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your language, theme, and this notice. This site does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

About

A home for thoughts that arrive before they are organized.

Thought Monster catches your voice notes, gently tidies them, and gives each one a memorable creature and category.

The more you feed it, the more your monster reflects the shape of your mind—without asking you to organize everything first.

A note from the maker

I made Thought Monster because my friends and I kept having the same problem: ideas would arrive at the wrong moment, then disappear before we had time to write them down. It began as a small personal project to help us catch those thoughts, keep them gently organized, and return to them later. I’m sharing it with anyone who could use a little monster to hold onto their ideas until they’re ready.

Say it. Feed it. Find it later.

Thought safely swallowed.
